Instructors are dancers who have trained for many years, had performance experience of their own, and are required to participate in continuing dance education on a yearly basis.
Miss Maria Boscaino has danced, performed, taught and directed for many years, training in New York City and throughout the country. She taught at West Side Dance Project in New York for ten years before moving to the Minneapolis area, where she has taught for ten years. Most of her personal training has been in Cechetti ballet; however, she also uses exercises from both the Italian and Russian (Vaganova) schools. Her modern classes and workshops are in the choreography of Isadora Duncan. She is the artistic director, choreographer, dancer and founder of the American Heritage Dance Company. Miss Maria has appeared with the Dances of Isadora Duncan in the New York City area and has danced with the B.M.C.C. Dance Company at Clark Center, City Center, and schools in New York.
Mr Bruce DeMorrow trained at Woodbury Dance Center in Woodbury, MN. His energetic approach to tap classes along with his new, cutting-edge choreography at a fast and upbeat pace leaves his students feeling full of life. Mr Bruce was a competition dancer for many years at Woodbury Dance Center and has won numerous awards. His has had a variety of involvement with outside tap dance companies and is an experienced performer and choreographer. He recently performed with Rhythmic Circus in their Feet Don't Fail Me Now critically acclaimed show.
Miss Hannah Eisert has been dancing for 11 years and has trained at Fusion Dance, Jan's School of Dance and Lagervall Dance. She has participated in dance conventions in Chicago, Minneapolis and St. Paul. Miss Hannah has taken Dance Assistant Training at Fusion Dance and has been a classroom assistant for 5 years. This will her first year teaching and she is excited to join the staff of Fusion Dance.
Miss Courtney Hren began dancing at Woodbury Dance Center in Woodbury, MN and attended the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Following graduation, she continued her dance training at Broadway Dance Center in New York, NY, performing in shows such as Voices and Visions and DRA (Dancers Resisting Aids). Miss Courtney was then awarded a dance scholarship to study at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. While in California, she was featured in The Carnival Choreographer's Ball, a dance show by top professional choreographers in the video, music and film industry. She has also performed in many industrial shows and an independent film, Spelling Bee. Her extensive training across the nation leads to her dance excellence and versatility in choreography.
Miss Missy Plein has trained at Fusion Dance, Sol Pointe Dance Studio and Lagervall Dance Studio, all in Red Wing, MN, and at The Edge Performing Arts Center (Hollywood, CA). She has attended dance workshops at Omega Dance (Red Wing), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing), LADF (Minneapolis) and West Coast Dance Explosion (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago and Las Vegas). Miss Missy has taught at Victoria's School of Dance (Edina, MN), guest taught at Turning Pointe Dance Studio (Eagan, MN) and Dance Connection (Rochester, MN) and has been a workshop assistant at Dance Arts Centre (Eden Prairie, MN), Dance Express (Mankato, MN), Dance Fever (Andover, MN), Metro Dance Center (Shoreview, MN) and The Reif Center (Grand Rapids, MN). She has danced with the Statewide Dance Standout dancers under the direction of Miss Courtney Hren, danced with the American Heritage Dance Company under the direction of Miss Maria Buscaino and performed with Colleen McClelland's dance troupe for the Red Wing Shoe Company Centennial Celebration. Miss Missy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Language Arts, and a minor in Pyschology from Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN, and currently teaches 5th grade students at Pine Island School District.
Miss Elle Plein has trained at Fusion Dance, Sol Pointe Dance Studio, and Lagervall Dance Studio, all in Red Wing, MN, and at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. She has also attended dance workshops at Omega Dance (Red Wing), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing), LADF (Minneapolis) and West Coast Dance Explosion (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago and Las Vegas). She has been a guest assistant at Dance Connection (Rochester, MN) and a competition team audition judge for St. Croix Valley Dance Academy (Baldwin, WI). Miss Elle has also danced with the Hall of Fame All-Star Dancers under the direction of Sonya Tayeh, American Heritage Dance Company under the direction of Miss Maria Buscaino and with Colleen McClelland's dance troupe for the Red Wing Shoe Company Centennial Celebration. Miss Elle attended University of Wisconsin - River Falls, where she danced on the university dance team and was voted as "Rookie of the Year" by her dance teammates. She currently attends University of St. Thomas ( St. Paul, MN) and is obtaining a business degree in Real Estate.
Miss Shannon Raines began her training at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. She continued her training at Minnesota Dance Theatre and Broadway Dance Center, New York. She began assisting and choreographing in her early teens and has taught for over 20 years. She developed the Classical Ballet Program at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance that included four levels of ballet instruction and three levels of Pointe technique. Her choreography includes ballet, tap, lyrical and jazz styles. She has won numerous choregraphy awards and many regional and national titles. Miss Shannon's teaching style is encouraging and individualized. Her dancers have won many convention scholarships and many have gone onto professional careers as teachers and performers. Miss Shannon's students have performed with the Joffrey Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Metropolitan Ballet, Disney and Euro Disney as well as various summer stock productions.
Miss Tami Sevlie has danced for over thirty years and trained at Fusion Dance (Red Wing, MN), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing, MN), River Falls Ballet (River Falls, WI), Cross Current Dance Company (Minneapolis, MN), North Dakota Ballet Company (University of ND, Grand Forks, ND), and Venschka Dance Studio (Bismarck, ND). She has also attended dance workshops at Omega Dance (Red Wing), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing) and Christian Choreography (Minneapolis, MN). Miss Tami works with the adult ballet students and currently directs the New River Worship Dance Team.
Miss Laura Van Stone trained at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance (Maple Grove, MN). She has also studied with a variety of teachers throughout the United States: Minneapolis, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and Orlando. Miss Laura has taught at Fusion Dance (Red Wing), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing), Butterfield’s Dance Studio (Maple Grove, MN), St. Croix School of the Arts (Stillwater, MN), and Victoria’s School of Dance (Edina, MN). She has also worked with Omega Dance workshops at Dance Express (Mankato, MN), Dyan's World of Dance (Eagan, MN), Metro School of Dance (Shoreview, MN) and The Reif Center (Grand Rapids, MN), and has guest taught at St. Cloud School of Dance and Ultimate Gymnastics (St. Cloud, MN) and Move '09 Workshop (Alexandria, MN). She is currently a member of the Ignite Dance Company (Hopkins, MN) and a former member of the Synergy Dance Company (Hopkins, MN), both under the direction of Miss Judith Olson. She has also danced with American Heritage Dance Company under the direction of Miss Maria Buscaino and with Colleen McClelland's dance troupe for the Red Wing Shoe Company Centennial Celebration. Miss Laura has received her B.A. Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Miss Mary Plein is the owner of Fusion Dance. She holds accounting, business administration and computer science degrees from Winona State University where she graduated Magna cum laude. Citizens Security Mutual Insurance Company employed Mary for nearly thirteen years. In her last position, she was Vice President of Finance. She was with the Company as it grew from a small mutual insurer to a multi-company entity. Following her time in the insurance industry, Ms. Plein was a independent consultant, specializing in financial and corporate communication consulting. She then spent eight years as the Executive Director of the United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha & Pierce Counties.
